Faith Ev Lutheran Church

Faith Ev. Lutheran Church is a merger of two Wisconsin Synod Lutheran congregations.  These congregations can trace their roots back to the 1870's when a neighboring Pastor would visit from the Burr Oak area.  Formally, the church was established in 1896 as Friedens (German for "Peace") and has existed in Printz Creek (rural Cataract) since that time.  The original church building was destroyed by fire in 1919.  At that time, some of the members decided to move into Cataract and they purchased their present building from the Evangelical Association of North America.  They formed St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1920.  The remaining members of Peace rebuilt the church on the same spot.  Peace and St. Paul shared a resident Pastor since 1923.  In 2007, out of love for the lost and for the sake of the Gospel, Peace and St. Paul merged to become Faith Ev. Lutheran Church.  Faith Ev. Lutheran Church now worships in Cataract and currently at the public high school in Black River Falls. The congregation has been served by Pastor Nathan Berg since 2004.
